The Process
Tailored to your schedule, built around your story
Most of my clients are high-profile, very busy people, so I adjust my schedule to fit yours.
That said, writing a book is a commitment of time.
We begin by meeting (in person or on Zoom) for me to ascertain the story you want to tell and begin charting a working structure for the book.

Conversations that bring the narrative to life
The next part of the process is interviews, which, depending on your schedule, can take as long as a couple of months.
Most people I’ve worked with enjoy this part of the process, getting the opportunity to tell your story to an enthusiastic audience.
While the interviews are taking place, I do any research or reporting that the story calls for.
Building your book, one chapter at a time
Once I’ve collected all the material, I start writing, a chapter at time, which I then send to you for input and direction.
Chapter by chapter, we work our way through the book until we have a full, working draft.
It is then that rewriting begins, which continues until you’re completely satisfied with the project.

Your partner until print
If you have a book deal in place (as most of my clients do), it’s at this point that the manuscript is sent to the acquiring editor at your publisher.
If you don’t have a book deal in place, I can help you find an agent and or publisher who might be interested.
For clients who don’t have a book deal, I usually advise to start with a book proposal that would be sent to agents for representation, or, if you already have an agent, for them to shop to publishers.
I have extensive experience writing book proposals and own a pretty good batting average selling them. Feel free to inquire about proposal pricing.
Whether or not you have a book deal, I’m on call for you or your editor until the book goes to print.
