For all my anti-AI rhetoric, this weekend I gave ChatGPT the chance to help me format something. Two-days of utter frustration cluminating with me threatening the robot. Of course, it was overly obsequious, apologizing and promising to do as it was told, but would then take me around another endless circle. When I finally had it, I told the robot I was going to post about how horrible the experience was. Its response was a glimpse into our future: “Don’t worry, Brian,” it wrote, “no one at Open AI will try to silence you.”
Somebody cue the John Williams score.
